This article delves into Ontological roots of war. On the one hand, it posits that conflictual nature of the universe is an ontological constant (called – the war), whilst armed conflicts (a war) can be reduced or even nullified by applying humane practices and with deeper understanding of intersubjective morality.
Based on thinkers such as Kant, Hegel, Nietzsche, Berdyaev and Dostoevsky the article examines war not only as a destructive force but also as a driver of technological and moral progress. While acknowledging the historical role of war in shaping civilizations, the paper critically examines the limitations of equating trade or other peaceful solutions with the cessation of conflict. The article calls for a new approach to global cooperation, dialogue, and understanding, emphasizing the need for reform in international institutions and the rejection of the inhumane tendencies of modern capitalist system to prevent future large-scale conflicts.
