It is a well known notion that all major incidents taking place during the US election year directly or indirectly affects the very results of the election itself. Therefore the chances of Covid-19 pandemic influenced the outcome of the 2020 US presidential election are reasonably high. This article examines the 2020 US election results within the framework of analysis of all the significant instabilities that happened during the election year (in this regard one of the key events analysed in the article is “Black Lives Matter” movement).
With this in mind it is crucial to mention that the recent socio-political turbulences, occurring in the United States as the chain of events, were predicted and well described a couple of years before by Georgian researcher in the field. This article will try to represent and analyse the predictions forecasted long before.
On the other hand, the 2020 parliamentary election of Georgia took place in parallel to the 2020 US presidential election. Strong connection in these two events became clear, as the election in The United States influenced the election in Georgia. Opposition leaders in Georgia have explicitly manifested their expectations toward Joe Biden administration. With the hope that the new administration will be more assistive to Georgian opposition parties, might appoint a new ambassador in Tbilisi and negotiate a favourable deal to the opposition.
This article also includes an analysis of the 2020 Georgian Parliamentary Election. It will try to retrospectively assess the election outcomes and review the political processes afterwards. It will also bring possible resolution for the ongoing political instabilities in Georgia.
