On October 31, the negotiations about climate change named COP26, held through mediation from the UN, was launched in the Irish capital Glasgow. The main goal of the meeting was the presentation of the results of the implementation of the 2015 Paris Agreement.
The summit's success will depend on whether countries and corporations will maintain an average annual increase in a temperature rise of 1.5 degrees or below.
According to most experts, the agreement among the world leaders will not be reached, considering that the top three countries in terms of environmental pollution - China, Russia, and India - will not be able to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. It is also noteworthy that unlike other leaders of respective countries, leaders of Russia and China did not travel to Glasgow to attend the summit.
The ambiguity and inconstancy of positions around the issue pose a threat to the future of humanity. The insufficiency of resources to reach an agreement between states further increases the risks posed by global warming worldwide.
