It's becoming apparent that the Black Sea Region became a subject to tectonic shifts occurring in the international political field. Consequently, the region became a space for the confrontation of the leading actors in international relations. The dissertation deals with the challenges in the Black Sea region and tries to develop mechanisms for avoiding the potential confrontation scenarios.
In addition, the dissertation discusses the geopolitical interests of the opposing parties and the main features of this antagonism, which are often characterized by non-dynamism and variability. The research analyzes the historical vicissitudes of the Black Sea Region. It uses the historical research method to study in-depth the historical context and the interests of the confronted parties. Also, the paper will present new views on the solution to the problems the region is facing. The concluding part focuses on Georgia's role in stabilizing the security of the Black Sea region.
